I am building these 2 panels that will be connected and mounted on my house second floor.   I have not built the key part which will be the columns of aluminum soda cans lining the bed of each panel.  Then the top will be covered with glass.  All inside parts will be painted black to absorb heat.   This will be completely self powered by the small electric solar panel and the 12 volt fan mounted.   It will draw air from the house into the panel, heat it by sun power and send back into the house.   I will document the whole process so others can follow and copy this design.  It should heat 1500 square feet.  Which is more than my top floor, but I hope it will really warm things up in later winter when sun is lower on the horizon.   I already have 2 commercial built unit on the first floor that really can heat up the whole first floor for most the year.   I turn off my oil heat 2 weeks earlier and later in the year with these panels.  I hope to reduce my oil used per year with this by 50-100 gallons per year.  Total cost for project so far is about $500.00.   I should get that back in less than 2 years.  That will eliminate up to 2200 lbs. of carbon per year!
